I believe in supernatural healing, when the power of God goes to work in your physical body, either immediately healing something or putting it on the path of recovery; even where there might not have been the possibility in the natural. I am keenly aware when that happens, and full of praise and thanksgiving at experiencing it! Praise God!
However, recently, I had something in my body that had been hurting me for a few days, nothing catastrophic, but I realized it was finally gone. It had gotten better on its own (naturally). As the relief hit me, I realized I don’t put much value on that. Yes, I was relieved, but that’s not the same as gratitude or thanksgiving towards God. I have a message on cultivating a relationship with God through Thanksgiving, (A video, you can get on our website or YouTube channel); in it I talk about how we often use those words, “I’m so thankful” ‘but we don’t actually attribute them and our thanksgiving directly and even personally to God. If we really did, we’d be talking about God’s goodness way more! Not just saying some words into the air. But here’s the same principle as related to healing. Is a cut that heals not God’s design for our bodies heal itself? What about all of the viruses and sicknesses that our body fights?
God wants our bodies to be well. He made our bodies to fight anything coming against it. Naturally. Yes, in this fallen world, and fallen state of mankind, our bodies aren’t always able to do that on their own. Nonetheless, God’s original design for wellness is still imprinted within us. This is a very important point to consider if you are not sure God truly wants you well! He designed your body to work towards healing and wellness. If not, our bodies wouldn’t even be able to recover from a cut!
Again, we have the promise of healing as part of the finished work of the cross! We receive it just as we do with forgiveness, by faith! But what about those incidents that our body ‘naturally’ takes care of for us, like I mentioned happened to me recently? I realized I don’t thank God nearly as often for those times! Do you? It is only because God created our bodies this way that it heals itself-or can be assisted by medical science to do so.
Whenever your body has recovered from something, recognize it as God’s creative design-he wants you well. Whether the problem lasted a moment or for a while! Thank God for the healing that came! Do it for everything, whether it is big or small. Develop an attitude of thanksgiving!
I believe as you start to make an intentional practice of giving Him glory for it, your heart will become more sensitive to Him-cultivating your relationship through thanksgiving. You will also sensitize yourself to believe for supernatural healing!!! God wants you well! Praise God!
