Expectation, Faith

Being Fully Persuaded

When you are fully persuaded it means what God’s word says about your situation is ‘a matter of fact,’ even though you might not be feeling it or seeing it yet. There’s no moving you from it.  You’ll hang on to your assurance.  It might not be easy, but you’ll fight for it, because you believe God’s word is faithful. If you stand firm in your conviction of God’s goodness and promise, you’ll prevail!  That goes for any promise because all of God’s promises are yes and amen (2 Cor. 1:20).

If you’re not all the way there, being fully persuaded, keep spending time in the Word, and in fellowship and prayer.  Then step out in faith.  Don’t put a time frame on it.  It might take 5 minutes, 5 days, 5 years.  But when you’re convinced, it means you know that it will manifest and there’s no moving you into uncertainty about it.

How you know if you’re moving out of ‘fully” persuaded

You can tell if you begin to get uneasy or fear begins to creep in over the situation that you are moving from that place of being fully persuaded.  Don’t let that happen.  Continue to shut out sources of doubt, feed your faith, and fellowship with the author and finisher of your faith until you see the fulfillment of the promise.  This is what Abraham did and he is called our father of faith. He became fully persuaded that God would bless him as the father of many nations.  He was an ordinary man who trusted God.  We can too.  Be encouraged by his example and don’t give up!  Praise God!

Romans 4:18-21 Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, “That’s how many descendants you will have!” He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about a hundred years old), or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully persuaded that God is able to do whatever he promises.

Some enemies of being fully persuaded

  • Having an expectation on HOW it will come to pass (limits)
  • Having an expectation of WHEN it will come to pass (time)
  • Focusing on the problem (looking at the wind and waves)
  • Not keeping your focus on the promise (whatever you expect is what you truly believe)
