Your Victory is About God-Not You
Whatever your need is; healing, prosperity, wisdom, peace; it’s not about you!
As this truth began to be unraveled for me, I started to see all God has done for me. I knew it intellectually, but it wasn’t personal or real to me; I would read promises and then try to figure out how to receive them. But when I took my eyes off of myself, or my efforts to receive, and started spending time with Him, that’s when those truths effortlessly became ‘real’ to me. What God did, he did for me! And faith was a natural overflow.
You may understand this intellectually, but if you are lacking in an area that you are ‘trying’ to believe God for, maybe this is the adjustment you need to make. You might be asking, “Okay, how do I do this?” It’s all about your focus!! This is how I did it, and still, intentionally where I put my focus, day after day.
Start at the beginning.
John 3:16amp “For God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world, that He [even] gave His [One and] only begotten Son, so that whoever believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not perish, but have eternal life.
You might say you know this. But again, let it sink in. God so loved you, that even while you were a sinner, He sent Jesus to die for you! He really did-and did it for you!
Romans 5:8 But God demonstrates His love to us, that of us being still sinners, Christ died for us.
What did Jesus give us? Eternal Life
John 17:3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
Understanding what eternal life is changed the way I related to God. It is more than forgiveness and getting to go to Heaven. I’m not minimizing that, but sin was the barrier between us and God. Now, He wants us to be able to come to Him boldly, and to know Him experientially. He wants relationship. He did this because He loved me before I was saved, he wanted me, and He’s given me the ability to know Him and to know His love. This is all about God. Now, in this earthly life, I can relate to God personally because of the righteousness He gave me in Jesus. He did all of this for you too. He wants our life to be an outflow of our relationship with Him. The life He promises is abundant life! And we can partake of it by knowing our Father God!
John 10:10. The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
2 Peter 1:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
The amplified bible says this in Colossians 1:4 for we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus [a]the leaning of your entire human personality on Him in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness]
This is God’s will for us, His Children. To know Him to such a degree that we have absolute trust and confidence in His goodness toward us. We can only do this, if we have a relationship with Him (not with religion). Our life is meant to be an overflow of this relationship. He is in us, and we are in Him. This abiding place is how His life flows in us and through us. (see John 15:1-10)
When I began relating to God on a personal level, based on His true nature and according to His will for me, it wasn’t difficult to receive His goodness towards me. I’m not twisting His arm, trying to get something from Him. He already gave it in Jesus. It’s just a matter of my trusting Him enough to believe it. Praise God!
Romans 5:1-2 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
When you see that your healing, prosperity, deliverance is really about how good God is, not whether or not you’ve been good enough to deserve or earn or believe enough to get, it is easy to receive it!
Whatever your needs are, according to His Word He has promised to meet your needs. He’s already made provision. It is about God and His faithfulness. You don’t have to wonder or doubt, regardless of the natural circumstances. You can be assured that the victory is yours, hallelujah! It might take some time for it to sink in, but when it does, you’ve conceived your miracle. Now hold on to it, the same way. With the eyes of your heart focused on who God is. It’s never been about your worthiness or how good you are, what you’ve done, what you haven’t. It’s only about how good your God is. When you see that, it will be all that matters! Your focus will be on the healer, deliverer, and promise keeper! Your expectation will be the assurance of your victory! Praise God!
