Psalm 91:1-2 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
Sometimes people feel that they are showing their “concern, love and support” by staying up on the latest…whether it be for justice, equality, or safety. “I don’t want to be ignorant of what’s happening in our world,” someone would say. “I care about what’s happening!”
I’m not going to talk to you about “which side you’re on” with any of today’s hot issues. Nor am I saying you should be “ignorant” of what is going on in the world. But there is a difference between being aware, and having ANY of these BE the place where your life flows from.
So if you haven’t been able to find a balance between being aware and being consumed by the issues from without, it is time to begin living from within.
I want to offer a suggestion that I think is a much more constructive way for you to give your love, concern and support; regardless of which “side” of an issue you’re on, And clearly more operative to affect change.
The first is prayer. As children of God, Jesus has told us to pray. I am NOT talking about “praying down” the solutions. God has provided and it is only by faith in God’s grace that we receive. All He needs to cause His will in the earth are people who will believe enough to be led by His Spirit, and take their authority over the enemy.
Romans 5:2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
It is through your personal relationship with God and a spirit led life that you have the power to change you, your community and your nation! It is your faith that will allow God’s power to flow, and the wisdom to cause change!
Faith comes by the Word of God. Faith is a spiritual force that reaches into the spirit and brings physical manifestation of what God has already provided by Jesus Christ-His grace.
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Next, we pray with the authority over this world, as Jesus has given us. Most Christians do not understand their authority or responsibility and are not having any influence in bringing the Lord’s will to pass on this earth. And therefore asking God for something He has already given, sitting back waiting in hopelessness and in despair. They are being led by the yoke of bondage and fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
My challenge to you is to unplug from social media and the news, and spend quality and quantity time in the Lord’s presence; in prayer, and in thanksgiving. God has already given us everything we need for life and godliness.
2 Peter 1:2-4 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
If you’re sitting back anxiously hoping God intervenes, then you do not believe what the Bible says. Jesus has overcome the world and we through faith lay hold of that. Amen.
John 16:33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
1 John 5:4 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith.
It isn’t God we’re waiting on; it is God who is waiting on His children. If you really want to give your love and express your support to anyone or any cause, choose to be active in causing change! Fellowship with the Lord. Speak His will over the situation according to His promises instead of negativity and fear. Take your authority on this earth as children of God. And then rise up with thanksgiving knowing our Father is faithful!
Romans 8:14 For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
The Lord never meant for us to be consumed, stressed or overwhelmed by the issues in the world. Our lives, as Christians are meant to come from the life that flows from our spirit.
Romans 8:6 For to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Proverbs 4:23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.
Spend time in God’s Word each day, meditating on it. Your life will begin to flow from your spirit man. And you will have peace, faith, wisdom, and all the fruit of the spirit grow out of you. You will do more to affect change than sitting in front of the TV hours each day, or on your phone reading every news story! Do you have faith in God's Word? His Word is His will. Plant it in your heart and expect a harvest of change!
1 John 5:14-15 now this is the confidence that we have in Him that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.
