New Covenant

Life in the New Covenant

Brothers and Sisters, as Christians, there should be a difference between us and those that are not saved. We have the life of Christ in us! If the world cannot tell a difference between us and them, how will they know God? The book of Acts is full of the demonstration of the kingdom of God, here on this earth.  However, many today believe that this kind of Christian life modeled in the first century Church isn’t for the believers of our day.  Many are living their lives with the same lack, fear, sickness and limitations as the world and accepting it.  How can we believe that God’s will for His children has changed just because we weren’t there the day the new covenant was given?  Jesus ushered it in by His blood.

Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is shed for you. Luke 22:20

The Gospel of Salvation that the Apostle Paul and the other disciples preached is the same one we are to live out today! The Gospel is the nearly too good to be true news of grace!  And it hasn’t been done away with.  Jesus came, full of grace and truth.  He is our example of the victorious Christian life.  He came that we have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10).  Many times, Jesus included those who would later believe on Him into this grace.

John 17:20 neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word.

John 20:29 “…blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed."

Mark 16:17-18 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

There's more to the being a Christian than bobbing up and down in the storms of life more gracefully than the world.  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever.  But if you don’t believe this, though you consider yourself a Christian, your life won’t reflect the full message of salvation or be a witness of God’s will for your life.

Forgiveness of your sins, past, present and even future sins is finished, and you are now the righteousness of God.  You have a new nature as a born again child of God.  Salvation isn’t just a decision on our part that makes us a Christian.  You have been made a new creation in Christ and the kingdom of God is within you. (2 Cor. 5:17)  You are equipped to live life abundantly.

Luke 17:21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.”

Now the life that we live is lived out of the nature of Christ, His power, and His blessing that is within us! We should be ruling and reigning on this earth over the power of darkness, corruption, sin, loss and sickness.  The Lord has given it all to us. We already have the victory.   Hallelujah!

For the kingdom of God is not in word but in power. 1 Corinthians 1:20

In John 14:12, Jesus said “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.”

It’s time everyone who calls themselves a Christian makes a decision to obey the Word of God and live by it!
