2 Corinthians 6:2 For He says: “In an acceptable time I have heard you, And in the day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
So what is salvation?
This word for SALVATION in Greek is SOTERIA. It comes from the word for saved, SOZO. It means to save, heal, deliver, preserve and rescue.
Salvation is God’s rescue plan which delivers believers out of destruction and into His safety. Salvation was one act by God given once for all, through Jesus Christ, 2000 years ago. The moment you receive it by faith is not when he gives it, but when you begin partaking of it. Once you accept it, you HAVE (as a present possession) Salvation – this finished act of the Cross of Calvary, and all that it includes.
When you receive this free gift by faith, you then have access into all that God’s grace has provided as a result of salvation. You have access to it by faith through this one act given to us by God through Jesus!
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. Romans 5:17
It is true that we might not be aware of some of the benefits or choose to be partakers; of what we’ve been redeemed from or what we’ve been brought into, however, it’s still ours, and we are entitled to them. Praise God!
2 Peter 1:1-4 Simon Peter, a bondservant and apostle of Jesus Christ, To those who have obtained like precious faith with us by the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
Salvation begins in this life.
Salvation begins with forgiveness, which removed the barrier between us and God. Now we can by faith in Jesus, receive healing, prosperity, wisdom, peace, protection, joy, and every good thing God has for your life!
For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ.) Romans 5:17
who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father. Galatians 1:4
The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. John 10:10
Jesus said he came that we might have abundant life. The Apostle Paul said how shall God with Jesus, not also freely give us all things (See Romans 8:32).
How much of it we experience is completely dependent on our knowledge of what salvation has done, and our faith in it.
We have saving grace! Today, is the day of Salvation, praise God!!
